Swimming Levels and Curriculum

We have lessons for swimmers of all ages and skill levels. Our curriculum based on the American Red Cross levels and is designed to provide a comprehensive approach to swimming, with a focus on safety, solid technique, and fun. Our experienced teachers provide personalized instruction and guidance tailored to each swimmer's individual needs. Morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend lessons available.

  • Level 1: Water Comfort & Safety: Students will learn how to feel comfortable in the water and safely enjoy it.

    • Get comfortable with your face and head in the water

    • Learn to blow bubbles​ and breathe

    • Learn to float on your back

    • Basic swim movements in the water (arm scoops, elementary backstroke)

    • Safely jumping in, surfacing, and exiting the pool

  • Level 2: Fundamentals of Aquatic Skills: Students will learn basic swimming skills with an emphasis on kicking.

    • Kicking with straight legs on your stomach​

    • Kicking on your back

    • Swimming across the pool with rolling on your back to breathe. 

  • Level 3: Stroke Development: Students will start learning the fundamentals of freestyle (front crawl).

    • Learn to swim with straight arms and pulling water​

    • Swimming across the pool with rolling using a 4 scoops / 1 breath pattern

    • Kicking down to the bottom of the pool and resurfacing

    • Swimming with no physical support from the instructor

 

Clothes Test - Student will jump into the pool fully dressed, swim across, and safely exit the pool.

  • Level 4: Stroke Improvement: Students will improve their freestyle stroke and start learning backstroke

    • Swim 4 laps of freestyle with solid technique

    • Swim 2 laps of backstroke with solid technique

  • Level 5: Stroke Refinement and Breaststroke

    • Learn and swim 2 laps using breaststroke​

    • Refine crawl stroke and swim 6 laps

    • Refine backstroke and swim 4 laps

  • Level 6: Swimming and Skill Proficiency: Students will learn to swim with ease and efficiency, and gain the ability to swim smoothly over greater distances. 

    • Learn butterfly and swim 2 laps​

    • Refine and continue expanding freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke

  • Level 7 - Pre-team: Students will learn skills necessary for racing or triathlons​

    • Learn flip turns​

    • Intro to diving starts

    • Open water swimming (on case-by-case basis)
